Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture is a trademarked system used in a series of treatments to lift, firm and revitalize the face, neck or abdomen. 

Both internal and external causes of aging are addressed with Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture. Body points are chosen for each client to treat the internal causes of aging, to which the Mei Zen protocol is added to treat the external. Some benefits to using body points in combination with the Mei Zen protocol include improved sleep, digestion, reduced stress and more. 

The Mei Zen protocol can improve the overall look of skin including, reduction and or elimination of fine lines, reduction in wrinkles, improvement and possible elimination of acne, rosacea and even melasma. 

From a Western standpoint, needling causes micro-trauma which stimulates the wound healing response. This triggers increased blood flow and collagen and elastin production to the level of needling (the dermis). From a Chinese Medicine prospective, Mei Zen brings Qi and Blood to the face, raising the Qi and the Spirit, and balancing the body's energetic pathways (channels). 

Mei Zen is beneficial for all ages. Starting in our 30s we notice a decline in our skin's "youthful glow." Cosmetic acupuncture can be a good preventative for wrinkle development and sagging that come with the decrease in oil production and collagen and elastin decline of aging.  In our 40s and 50s we notice more wrinkles developing as the dermis thins and age related hormonal changes can wreak havoc on the skin.
